Recommendation to invest in community beds and alternatives to keep people well across south Warwickshire
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) has undertaken a review of community inpatient facilities within the south Warwickshire area. This has included the bedded ward at Ellen Badger Hospital in Shipston on Stour and the ward at Stratford Hospital.

Staff feel supported and able to work flexibly at local NHS Trust
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) has again delivered some of the best results in the country in the NHS Staff Survey, which was published today (Thursday 09 March 2023). Despite operational challenges and at times extreme service pressures, staff at the Trust remain engaged, feel listened to and supported to learn and work flexibly. This builds on the aims set out in the Trust’s Strategy to be a very flexible employer by placing huge emphasis on staff health and wellbeing and offering opportunities to flex roles and hours to suit individual circumstances.

Warwickshire announced as frontrunner for NHS and Social Care partnership work
The Department of Health and Social Care has announced a programme to trial innovative solutions to free up hospital beds and make sure patients get the right care at the right time. Six areas across the country will be trailing new initiatives and Warwickshire is delighted to be one of the frontrunners.

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) and Consultant Connect, UK-founded telemedicine provider, have been shortlisted for HealthTech Partnership of the Year at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2023. The nomination recognises their combined outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.

South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust patient thanks Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) staff members for saving his life
In February 2022, Shaun Butler, from Malvern, was told he had a brain tumour and needed to have neurosurgery right away. He was just 28 years old. Upon referral to Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) Shaun was diagnosed with locked in syndrome. Now 8 months on since his neurosurgery, Shaun has been discharged from CERU and wants to tell his story and thank the staff that helped save his life.

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded the prestigious Baby Friendly Award Accreditation and has gained recognition from the UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) Baby Friendly Initiative.
