Father pedals for pounds

A father from Kineton has successfully completed a 100 mile cycle tour to raise money for the Birth & Babies Appeal.

The challenge took place on Saturday 18th August and Keith was joined by friend Nick Bridges to keep him company on the ride.

Keith James and his wife Jenny James had their first child Evelyn in 2016 and chose to give something back to future families through his cycle ride. Keith said: “‘The ride was a fantastic success, it went really well and I enjoyed the day. I want to thank everyone who sponsored me or bought raffle tickets”.

The father cycled across the Cotswolds visiting a combination of eight breweries, pubs and distilleries. In total Keith managed to raise over £1300 for the birth centre appeal, after initially setting his target at £500 he was overjoyed when he received such support from family and friends on his crowdfunding page.

The appeal has raised over £135,000 since it launched in April last year and has received incredible community support. The charity is calling on people to help to reach the £200,000 target, whether it is holding a cake sale or taking on a challenge like Keith.
