Frailty wards purchase state of the art beds with charitable funds.

Thanks to the support of your donations we recently bought eight new state of the art beds. These beds have a built in alarm system which recognises when a patient is trying to get out of bed unaided, alerting the staff immediately. This is particularly useful for those patients who are confused or not able to call for help.

Jo Copeman, Falls Prevention Lead at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust said: “Many patients need help but can’t ask for it and these new beds ensure that if a patient does try and get out of their bed without assistance, a member of the team is immediately alerted by way of a pager or alarm and can avert any further injury to the patient. Staff are really grateful to the general public for donating money to ensure we are able to offer this extra care to our patients during their stay with us.“

Donations to the SWFT charity from the kind hearted local community enable the Trust to sprinkle magic on services that are above the NHS’ core service offering. This ensures that we are able to give even higher levels of care and a greater experience to our patients.

Your donations make a huge difference. Please get in touch with the fundraising team 01926 495321 Ext 8049 charity@swft.nhs.uk or donate www.justgiving.com/swft if you would be interested in supporting us.
