Patients and relatives enjoy hospital’s annual garden party

On Friday 10 June, Leamington Spa Hospital held its 4th Annual Garden Party.

The day was a great success with lots of interesting activities on offer for patients, relatives and visitors to enjoy, including; a live saxophone band “Feeling Saxy”, flower stalls, competitions and a raffle. Guests could also try a variety of delicious homemade cakes. The event raised £200 which will go towards the hospital’s therapy garden.

The garden party is held annually and is organised by staff and volunteers as an opportunity to showcase the hospital’s therapy garden. The primary focus of the therapy garden is to create a more stimulating area for patients and their relatives. All of the plants in this garden are tended to by patients and volunteers as part of a structured rehabilitation plan.

Fleur Napier, Volunteer Co-Ordinator at Leamington Spa Hospital said: “This is our fourth garden party and it’s established itself as a firm favourite in the events calendar here at the Hospital. It’s great for patients and their visitors to enjoy something a little bit different and the sunshine certainly helps. Everyone is already thinking of what we can do next year to make the event even bigger. The upkeep and development of the garden relies solely on donations so the money raised will be a real help.”
