Snow stopping new MRI Scanner at Warwick Hospital

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce that despite the snowy weather conditions yesterday, a state-of-the-art MRI scanner was delivered to Warwick Hospital on Sunday 24 January.

This £1.7millioninvestment was approved to upgrade the current scanner and offer improved image quality, enhancing the diagnostic services for communities in South Warwickshire.

The new scanner will be housed in the current unit, with a temporary mobile MRI service within Car Park C during installation. The first patients will be using the new MRI scanner in March 2021.

Sophie Gilkes, Director of Development said: “With increasing demand for diagnostics I am delighted we have been able to invest in a new MRI scanner and improve the service we can offer. It is a challenging time in the NHS at the moment, so positive developments like this are fantastic and will support the timely delivery of healthcare in the future.”
