Trust highly commended for engaging staff through technology

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) is celebrating after being highly commended in the Employee Engagement Awards.

The Employee Engagement Awards (EE Awards) were held on 27 January 2017. They are the only global awards that recognise excellence in engagement, promoting the way organisations think about and engage people to achieve their purpose.

The Trust received a commendation within the Best Use of Technology category for their Staff Benefits Platform. SWFT were the first NHS Trust to develop a dedicated online platform to showcase all employee benefits. The platform has been designed in an easily accessible format and focusses on health and wellbeing centred benefits as well as financial incentives like discounts. It has improved staff engagement, supported recruitment and retention as well as delivering a financial benefit to the organisation.

The platform, which has been designed specifically for the Trust by Ernest Grant Benefits, is an online portal for staff to access all of the benefits they are entitled to as an employee. Benefits include a car lease scheme, exclusive discounts with local and national retailers, childcare vouchers, pension information and many more. Staff are able to access the platform 24/7 from an external secure web link.

Ann Pope, Director of HR at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust said: “I am delighted that we have been highly commended for our benefits platform. We recognise the hard work and commitment that all of our staff provide and wanted to offer them an engaging way to access benefits. Technology plays a massive part in how we communicate in everyday life, so it made sense to utilise it as an employee engagement tool as well.”
