School children’s artwork improves green space of local brain injury unit

Talented secondary school children have enhanced an outdoor space for brain injury patients at Leamington Hospital. Sustainability, nursing and maintenance teams at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT), which runs the Central England Rehabilitation Unit based at Leamington Hospital, worked with Campion School pupils to install colourful artwork in the hospital grounds.

Local NHS staff member selected as baton bearer for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust’s (SWFT) Senior Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner, Julie Atkins, is one of 2,000 people being honoured by taking part in the Queen’s Baton Relay ahead of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. Julie will carry the baton on Friday 22 July at 8.00am near Kenilworth Castle following a nomination from her Girlguiding colleagues for the inspiring volunteer work she carries out in Warwick and Kenilworth.

Trust neonatal unit receives prestigious accreditation for demonstrating outstanding care

The high-quality family-centred care being provided by Warwick Hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) has been recognised as gold standard. Following achieving an impressive assessment score of 97.7% in May 2022, the neonatal unit ran by South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust was awarded with a gold Bliss Baby Charter accreditation. This makes the unit the only SCBU within Coventry and Warwickshire and one of just thirteen in the country with this accolade.
