Local healthcare Trust recognised for outstanding care to veterans

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust has gained accreditation as a “Veteran Aware” trust – helping to drive improvements in NHS care for people who serve or have served in the UK armed forces and for their families. As well as improving the care of veterans, "Veteran Aware" trusts aim to remove barriers to the employment of veterans and actively identify ways in which the organisation can support career opportunities for them.

New resource app launches for new dads and dads-to-be

Monday 27 September 2021 sees the launch of the DadPad app, an easy-to-use, freely downloadable resource, developed with the NHS for new dads and dads-to-be in the Warwickshire, Solihull and Coventry area, packed with relevant information, as well as details on local support groups and service providers. Its aim is to provide new fathers with guidance on how to develop the mind-set, confidence and practical skills needed to meet their babies’ physical and emotional needs.

Warwickshire hospitals toughen stance on abusive behaviour

​George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust have reinforced their zero tolerance stance on racism, discrimination and violent behaviours through a joint campaign backed by Warwickshire Police. The campaign, which highlights that incidences will be reported to Warwickshire Police and could result in treatment being withdrawn, was rolled out across the trusts’ sites and on their social media channels at the start of this month. This was after extensive discussions with the Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and other trust Networks about the design concept and campaign wording.
