Cellular pathology, Coventry & Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS)

What we do

We process tissue samples that consultant pathologists review and we produce reports to aid diagnosis.

Our Histology Department is part of the Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Service (CWPS) and has a sister laboratory based at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) in Coventry.

We provide pathology services for Queen’s Hospital Burton and Warwick Hospital and their associated GP surgeries. All Cervical Cytology Screening is based at UHCW, Coventry.

Other services we offer include:

• Frozen section Service for rapid reporting
• OSNA Lymph Node – technique for identification of metastatic disease in lymph nodes
