From Monday 1 December 2025, our car parking charges will change for the first time in 13 years. Our new rates, found in the table below, remain highly competitive across the Coventry and Warwickshire region. Please view the Ellen Badger Hospital page for car parking information at this site.
For any car parking queries, please contact Hotel Services at Hotel.
Our hospital car parks, which have Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) installed, are managed by a Trust nominated car parking company, so please ensure you pay for your parking before leaving otherwise you will be subject to a parking charge notice. You can pay for car parking at machines in the car parking or (from Monday 1 December 2025) via the Ringo app.
All car parking income is reinvested into the Trust to cover essential car parking maintenance including security, CCTV, and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems. Without charging, these costs would have to be funded by the NHS, reducing the money available for direct patient care.
Concession parking
We do offer concession car parking for people who met certain criteria. View the concession car parking tab below to see if you qualify and how to activate.
Sustainable travel
We recognise that parking spaces are often in high demand, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through viable options to make the best use of the limited space available. As a reminder, choosing sustainable travel options - such as walking, cycling, or using public transport - can help reduce congestion and make visiting our sites easier and more enjoyable for everyone. See the sustainable travel tab below for more information.
Thank you
Thank you for your continued support. We’re committed to ensuring our car parks are accessible and safe, while keeping our prices competitive.

How Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) works
- As you enter the hospital car park, your vehicle registration will be captured automatically by camera.
- Park your vehicle in a designated car parking space
- When you are ready to leave, please pay at one of the pay stations, by entering your vehicle registration and following the onscreen instructions
- You now have the choice of paying with coins, notes and/or card including contactless payment
- Once you have paid, please return to your vehicle and proceed to exit
- If you have forgotten to pay for parking, please note payment can be made by downloading the RINGO app. This must be done within 24hrs of leaving the car park.
Please note our car parks can get extremely busy during peak times of the day, therefore where possible please consider alternative transport or leaving extra time for parking.
Choosing sustainable travel options - such as walking, cycling, or using public transport - can help reduce congestion and make visiting our sites easier and more enjoyable for everyone:
- Bus travel: Single journeys are capped at £3, and free bus passes are available for those over pension age and their carers. Apply for a bus pass via Warwickshire County Council.
- IndieGo Plus buses: For those without nearby public transport connections, door-to-door travel is available at £3 per journey. More information is available on Warwickshire County Council’s website.
- Train travel: Stratford and Warwick Hospitals are less than 10 minutes’ walk from their respective train stations. Leamington Hospital is a half-hour walk or 15-minute bus ride from the station. Some patients may also be eligible for railcards, providing discounted travel. For more information, visit the Railcard website.
The following groups are entitled to concession car parking:
- Patients attending the Renal Unit for dialysis
- Visitors staying overnight in the Neonatal Unit and McGregor
- Whitnash Unit (Dialysis Patients receiving treatment)
- Chemotherapy patients receiving treatment (Aylesford and Rigby)
- Visitors to the Patient Advisory and Liaison Service (PALS)
- Relatives of End Of Life Patients - maximum of two vehicles per 1 patient, 3 initial days + 3 days
Please note that if you feel you are entitled to concessionary Car Parking you must liaise with a member of nursing staff on arrival and submitted to Security. Car Parking concessions can only be actioned once submitted to Security.
Following the Government’s manifesto commitment in 2019 to make hospital car parking free for those in greatest need, the following has been implemented:
Blue badge holders
This is for holders of a valid Blue Badge attending hospital as a patient or visitor, or for a disabled person employed by the hospital Trust. Blue Badge holder patients and visitors receive free parking for the duration of their attendance at, or visit to, the hospital. Blue Badge holder employees receive free parking while at the hospital for purposes relating to their employment.
Working with our external ANPR contractor (LPS) to enable the blue badge holder to scan (via a bar code) their blue badge at any of the pay on foot machines located in any SWFT public car parks. The machine will authenticate that the blue badge is valid and in-date and once the holder has inputted their registration number allow the holder free parking for the duration of their stay.
Frequent Outpatient’s attenders
You will be eligible for free parking as a frequent attendee after you have had a face-to-face appointment with a Consultant or Doctor at least three times in a month or over a period of a least three months. A month is defined as a period of 30 days.
This does not include:
- Blood tests
- Radiology tests
- Hearing tests
- Medical device fittings
- Endoscopy appointments
- Physiotherapy appointments
- Maternity scans
How this works:
- You MUST pay for all visits and obtain a receipt
- After your third visit please use this form to claim back your parking charges
- The Trust will reimburse the cost of a 2nd class stamp
- Please be aware that this form may be used for audit purposes to substantiate the claim
- If you have any queries about parking please speak to someone from the department you are attending
Parents of sick children staying overnight
This is for a parent or guardian of a child or young person, under 18 years of age, who is admitted as an inpatient at hospital overnight. They receive free parking between the hours of 19:30 and 08:00 while visiting the child. This would apply to a maximum of two vehicles.
How to claim
In person at the cashiers office (Warwick Hospital only) - You will need to provide proof of benefit each time you make a claim and proof of appointment/attendance. By post using HC5(T) form, available at cashiers/reception desks or the security office (Warwick Hospital only).
If you are a patient who is required to attend regular clinics or outpatient appointments, you can qualify for a 5 or 10 visit multi-appointment ticket.
This ticket will give you access to the car parking facility at Warwick Hospital for a 3 month period from date of activation.
To get a multi-appointment ticket, please ask the receptionist for a form, and return the completed form back to Security Office.
