Geriatric medicine

We provide holistic assessment and medical treatment for older adults with a wide range of medical problems, particularly those related to Frailty. The Geriatric department comprises consultants, advanced clinical practitioners, junior doctors, nurses and clinical nurse specialists, clinical support workers, specialist physiotherapists and occupational therapists, medical secretaries and managers across the following areas of the hospital:

• Victoria ward
• Charlecote ward
• Nicholas ward
• Fairfax / FAA (Frailty Assessment Area)
• Farries ward (also encompasses Oncology and General Medicine patients over the age of 18)

As a department, we also regularly review older adults in orthopaedic wards, general surgery and the Emergency Division (ED).
