Golfers hit hole in one for new hospital

The Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club, previously known as Ingon Manor Golf Club, in Snitterfield has raised over £1000 for the Stratford Cancer & Eye Hospital Appeal.

The money was raised from a number of imaginative sources such as golf competitions, charity days and raffles. The club also has a ‘charity pond’ which involves if your golf ball is hit into the pond on the course you have to put money in the charity jar in the club bar.

On presenting the cheque for £1012 Kevin Bennett, Committee Member, commented: “ As a golf club, we wanted to raise money for something local and the new hospital will be of benefit to so many people in the Stratford and wider area”.

There have been a number of people involved in fundraising for the appeal over the last couple of years including past captains Jake Day and Andy Baughan.

Following the success of the £1million fundraising appeal for enhancements for the new hospital, there is continued on-going fundraising to ensure the hospital is the best it can be.
