Cancer services (oncology and haematology)

What we do

We provide diagnosis and treatment services for all major tumours and blood cancers. We work with each patient to ensure they receive the most appropriate and timely treatment for their condition.

Aylesford Unit - Warwick Hospital
Our Aylesford Unit has treatment facilities for patients with a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of cancer. It is a high quality, state-of-the-art, purpose-built Ambulatory Cancer Unit and also has a dedicated information centre for patients, carers and staff.

Our multi-disciplinary teams specialise in all major tumours including:

  • breast
  • colorectal
  • dermatology
  • gynaecology
  • haematology
  • lung
  • upper gastrointestinal
  • urology

Warwick Hospital also offers advanced techniques in adult palliative care, for pain due to cancer.

Patients requiring complex chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments will usually be treated at the Oncology Centre at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire at Coventry.

Rigby Unit - Stratford Hospital
The Rigby Cancer Unit, at Stratford Hospital, provides facilities to deliver chemotherapy and supportive care. The unit includes 12 chemotherapy treatment chairs, Macmillan Information and Support Centre and a range of facilities to support patients such as a complimentary therapy room.

The cancer services unit follows the same model as the Aylesford Unit at Warwick Hospital which has seen a high increase in demand since it opened in 2008. One of the key drivers to implement these services in Stratford was to ensure they are accessible to communities across South Warwickshire.
