Volunteer with us

From helping run the tea shop and hospital radio station, to making a patient’s day singing to them on a ward, our volunteers provide an invaluable and uplifting service.

We have many varied roles for volunteers at our hospitals such as:

  • ward volunteer
  • radio broadcaster and technician
  • reading to patients
  • work in the shop or pharmacy
  • help desk volunteer

Some of the essential things we require are that volunteers are aged 18 and over, can commit to volunteer work for at least 6 months, and be willing to work for a minimum of 3 hours each week.

Long-term volunteers are especially welcome as some of our patients may be staying for long periods of time, for example at Leamington Spa Hospital that provides rehabilitation services.

League of friends

The League of Friends are volunteers who fundraise for each of our hospitals. From Bric-a-brac shops to one-off fundraising events, they have a long history with our hospitals, for example Stratford-upon-Avon Hospital has had the support of its own League of Friends from the birth of the NHS in 1948. Find out about League of Friends.

Kissing it Better

Students with specialist skills, from hairdressing to manicurists, volunteer their services as part of this scheme. Children and young people also take part doing things such as reading or singing, to playing musical instruments and performing magic tricks.

This forum is made up of volunteers with wide-ranging experience and expertise on health and hospital services. They carry out an annual programme of surveys, inspections and research projects and reports of the findings are presented to the relevant Trust committees and departments. The Forum meets every third Monday of each month and also hosts the Community and Hospital Information Exchange Forum (CHIEF) which is held bi-monthly.
