We have listened to your feedback and are excited to announce the launch of our two-way text messaging system for Outpatient appointments to improve how we communicate with patients and reduce missed appointments (Did Not Attends – DNAs).
The rollout is being led by Operational Programme Management Unit (OPMU) in partnership with Innovate. We’re starting with services that have the highest DNA rates, working closely with specialty teams, operational leads, booking teams, and Business Information to measure the impact.
Our new system will allow patients to respond to reminders sent on the days leading up to their appointment, giving them the chance to confirm their attendance, reschedule or cancel their appointment.
We hope that this reduces our number of missed appointments, allowing us to help those who need us most.
