SWFT Clinical Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, is excited to announce the opening of its newly upgraded Outpatient Pharmacy at Warwick Hospital. Designed with patient care, safety, and service delivery at its core, the new facility represents a significant step forward in supporting the NHS and enhancing the patient experience.

SWFT Clinical Services plays a vital role in delivering high-quality services that directly benefit patient care. Any surplus generated by the subsidiary is reinvested back into the Trust or donated to charitable organisations, ensuring that the benefits of these services continue to flow back into improving healthcare outcomes.
The new pharmacy facility increases capacity, enabling SWFT Clinical Services to support a larger number of patients while improving operational efficiency. A key highlight of the facility is the introduction of a dispensing robot, which increases the site’s stock levels and enhances the speed of the dispensing process. This technology allows for faster patient discharges, enabling focus on direct patient care.
The Pharmacy facility also includes a Medipoint prescription collection machine, giving patients the flexibility to collect their prescribed medicines at times that are most convenient for them. This enhances the patient experience by reducing wait times and making the process of collecting prescriptions more convenient. An electronic controlled drugs cabinet has also been installed to increase both safety and efficiency in dispensing controlled substances. This system provides an added layer of security for sensitive medications.
The facility now offers a wider range of over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and supplementary health products. All aimed at supporting the wellbeing of our patients and community.
